Strengthening health and nutrition systems

Strong health and nutrition systems are critical for child survival, growth, and development as well as for the well-being of mothers and vulnerable populations. Limited access to quality health services and inadequate nutrition practices increase the risk of preventable illness, malnutrition, and mortality, particularly in resource‑constrained and crisis‑affected settings.

By strengthening community‑based and primary health systems and promoting evidence‑based nutrition practices, we improve access to essential services and support sustainable improvements in health and nutrition outcomes.

our focus

How Health and Nutrition Intersect with Other Programmes

Health and nutrition outcomes are closely linked to WASH, child development, disaster response, economic empowerment and household resilience. By integrating nutrition and health interventions with broader community systems, we address the underlying causes of poor health and malnutrition and support long-term wellbeing and resilience.
